PDF Ready for Android: privacy policy

Effective date: 29 September 2026. Publisher: Pixel Works Software S.R.L.

This policy covers PDF Ready for Android phones and tablets, package com.dreamatronics.pdfready, version 1.0 and later. PDF Ready for iPhone and iPad is covered by its own policy.

The short version

PDF Ready turns your photos, scans and PDFs into upload-ready PDFs on your device. We never receive your files, and the app itself collects no personal data. The one exception is Google’s: when you use Scan, the document scanner in Google Play services sends Google diagnostic information about the scanner, never your pages (see below).

What the app reads

Only the photos and files you choose. Android’s photo picker gives PDF Ready just the photos you select, not your gallery. Files you pick in the system file picker, or share to PDF Ready from another app with Share or Open with, are copied into the app to be processed; the originals are never changed or deleted. PDF Ready asks for no permission to your photos, storage or camera.

A PDF’s password, only when you type it to open that PDF; it is used on the device and never stored.

Scan and Google’s document scanner

Scan uses the ML Kit document scanner, which Google provides in Google Play services. Google’s scanner uses the camera and turns the paper into pages on your device; PDF Ready receives only the finished pages, and neither we nor Google receive the pages or your documents. Like every ML Kit feature, the scanner sends Google diagnostic and usage information when you use it: the device model and Android version, the app’s package name and version, performance metrics, the scanner’s configuration and installation identifiers. Google uses this to maintain and improve the scanner and for usage analytics; it is encrypted in transit and not shared with third parties, as described in Google’s ML Kit data disclosure, and Google’s privacy policy applies to it. We do not receive this information. If you prefer that nothing is sent, add pages with Photos or Files instead of Scan; Scan is the only feature that uses the scanner.

What stays on your device

Working copies of your pages while you prepare a PDF (removed when you finish or discard it, and cleaned up at the next launch; an unfinished document is kept so you can pick it up again); your last three PDFs, so you can share them again (you can clear them in the app); your size-limit settings, saved presets, and the date of your free PDF, so the free PDF is counted once. All of this lives in the app’s own storage on your device. It is not included in Android backups or in a transfer to a new device, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Saving or sharing a PDF through Files, Google Drive, email or another app, or saving page images to your gallery, is subject to the privacy practices of the destination you choose.

What we collect

Nothing. PDF Ready’s own code sends nothing to us or to anyone else: it contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting code and no account system, and it does not use the advertising ID or track you across apps or websites. The only data that leaves your device because of the app is the scanner’s diagnostic information described above, which goes to Google.

Photo details in your PDFs

By default, location, capture date and camera details are left out of the images inside the PDFs you create. You can choose to keep them; if you do, the PDF may contain personal information, so review your settings before sharing. A PDF still records when it was created and which app created it.

Purchases

Google Play processes purchases. The app uses Google Play Billing to show prices, to buy and restore PDF Ready Pro (a yearly subscription, which starts with a free trial for new subscribers, a monthly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase) and to check whether Pro is active. We do not receive your payment information or your Google Account. Google’s privacy policy and the Google Play terms apply to purchases. Manage or cancel a subscription in Google Play; uninstalling the app does not cancel it.

Children

PDF Ready is a general document utility and is not directed to children under 13.

Your rights, changes and contact

Your files stay on your device, under your control: you can clear the recent PDFs and the draft in the app, and remove all of the app’s data by clearing its storage or uninstalling it. Since we do not receive your data, we hold none to access, correct or delete. You can contact us about privacy through our contact page; we will never ask you to send us your documents. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority; in Romania, the ANSPDCP.

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
